Black and white image of an old fashioned typewriter, focused in on the head. The keys have just typed 'Never Settle!' on a white piece of paper.

Never Settle! It's a powerful imperative that I first read in Hal Elrod's essential book 'The Miracle Morning' (and yes, I do subscribe to his SAVERS routine – 1158 days and counting!)

Have you ever thought more deeply though about what it actually invites us to challenge?

It is much more than an invitation to just step out of your existing Comfort Zone. Much like another great quote:

"A ship in the harbour is safe, but that is not what ships are built for"

It invites you to consider what else you want and why that is important to you. What do you need to do to bring that bigger picture into focus?

Big Hairy Audacious Goals (Jim Collins - Good to Great)

Huge Unbelievably Great Goals (cited by Dr Andy Cope - Art of Being Brilliant)

Hold on! We're getting ahead of ourselves. It doesn't have to be the massive vision at the end of the journey... what about the next tiny step? The brave action that you have been wanting to take but, as yet, have hesitated.

Never Settle!

It's an invitation to strive for a little bit more. Each day. Not for greed. Not for the plaudits or the ticker tape parade. But because there is more... and you deserve more.

Actually, is 'more' the wrong word? It implies an accumulation... possession.

I think 'more' is fine. As long as you qualify it with happiness or contentment.

We all deserve to be a little happier, a little more content, right?

So I ask again – what's the next tiny step (for you) towards 'happier'?
